Lost Spanish Galleon and Viking Long Ship in the Colorado Desert

Stories of the wreck of a very large masted sailing ship being sighted in the Colorado desert, California, date back at least as far as 1863 when Colonel Albert S. Evans claimed to have seen it. The wreck can reportedly be seen from several miles away due to its immense size and its large masts. Some have speculated the the wreck is a Spanish galleon that sailed into the area during a flood.
